I think CarePortal is a wonderful program to help others in need.

My father died from cancer. I understand that hospital visits can be tough. If a mini table top pool set can bring some joy to the family during this tough time, then that’s $60 well spent. As Christ followers we are called to be stewards of God’s resources. May this gift bring the light of Christ in this family’s life.

Quick way to be alerted of needs in our community that otherwise fall through the cracks.

This was a tragic loss of a baby that needed funeral expenses covered. While the family is 30+ minutes away from our church, I was able to connect with the mother and funeral home via phone and pray for her. She also invited us to come to the funeral next week. I know the caseworker felt so supported as well in this tragic case.

A car seat, with a winter cover, a bouncy chair, a diaper pail, two sheets for a portable crib, a couple of blanket, bibs, burp rags, some bottles, diapers, wipes, 12 outfits, hair bows, 2 pairs of shoes. We couldn't do this without the help of the community making donations to OHRR. THANK YOU

The process worked well all involved were cooperative.

The estimate of hours is very rough since we may be providing additional assistance to the family. It was a rewarding experience for my wife and I to help such a great family in need. Bryanna Smith is very gracious and living angel to take care of so many children in need in addition to her own. More Crossings members may be involved as we provide additional assistance to the family, but the details are still to be determined.

The case worker was very kind. He came over to the house and picked up the money and went to buy the gas card with it. I wasn't sure what kind of card I needed to buy so he offered to do it for me.

The social worker did contact us regarding our ability to meet this request. We replied back to the social worker and we are waiting for the complete client contact information to be provided by the social worker.

I took a team member who has not been exposed to poverty in recent years. He was really moved when a child was so excited about just having a pillow. We stayed and had do some minor electrical work to get the dryer going and the kids kept showing us drawings and other stuff they treasured. My friend reconnected with his gift for connecting to kids. I feel like he got a big dose of perspective. We all need that gift.
